Having almost genuine Mediterranean climate, the town and its surroundings give the impression of a alarge garden abundant with the well-known and tasty Valandovo figs and pomegranates, as well as other early-spring vegetables and fruits.

In specially built glass gardens grow tomatoes and cucumbers;thus even in winter the inhabitants have fresh and healthy raised vegetables. The region has very good conditions for raising various kinds of ecological food. The largest part of the agricultural producs are intended for both the Macedonian and the foreign market. Recently, the contacts with Salonica have reached new dimensions, so the region has an intensive change of agricultural goods, the healthy food products, the textile industry, and the most important - the traffic.
